Almost Done!

I'm almost done with my fall quilt!  Yippee!  I went over to my friend's house and she showed me how to machine quilt.  It was not as difficult as I envisioned.  Now I just need to bind the edges and then I will post the picture.  It is so cool!  I must say though that it sure got me in the shoulders!  Even though I have been working out and especially on my shoulders and back, it is a killer!  Ibupofen is my friend though and usually takes care of the pain pretty quickly.  It only took me an hour and a half to do the quilting!  Awesome!  I think I will be doing a lot of these.  Can't wait to show you!

Stake Conference

We had Stake Conference this weekend.  The Saturday night meeting was wonderful.  I sang in the choir.  It was a lovely hymn "I Need Thee Every Hour".  We got lots of compliments on it.  I enjoy singing in the choir even though I don't always make every practice.  Sister Prine does an awesome job directing.  It is amazing how close you can feel the spirit of the Lord when you sing the hymns.  I've had many spiritual experiences while singing.  Even though I feel like my voice is not what it used to be, I still keep trying to participate.

Today one of he Counselors in the Stake Presidency made a suggestion that I thought was a neat idea and I thought I would share it. He spoke about journaling reasons for rejoicing in the gospel.  It started me thinking about my reasons to rejoice in the gospel.  His first reason was his family - I totally agree!  I love my family and feel the most joy when I think of them and all they mean to me.  That would include my husband, Carl, first and foremost!  He is the light of my life and I love him so much!  I rejoice in the Savior and all that He has done for me - His atoning sacrifice and resurrection that makes it possible for me to repent  of my sins and imperfections and be redeemed to live eternally!  I rejoice in extended family and friends who support me in my trials and tribulations and share in my joys as well.  I rejoice in the powers of the priesthood that Carl holds in our home to bless each of us when we need it.  These are just a few of the things I rejoice in.  Can you think of things to rejoice in the gospel in your life?  Try writing them down.

Finally a bit cooler!

Yes, it is a bit cooler here finally!  Well, you know what I mean don't you?  In Arizona it is getting fall when the temperature drops down in the 90's during the day and the 70's in the evenings and early morning.  I am glad I found this background of falling leaves.  At least, I can see them somewhere now!  They will not be falling around here because the cactus don't have leaves!  I can even get my fall decorations out and make my house feel like it really is autumntime! Hope you guys are enjoying the FALL!

Tracy's Girls visit!

Tracy and Mike won some tickets for box seats at the Cardinals Football game on Sunday so we got to have the girls visit for the day.  Of course, everyone wanted to come over and spend some time with them.  Erin and Tony and Liam met us at Church.  Kim and Ethan came over after church.  Doug got home shortly after that.  We had a lovely visit.  The girls painted pictures that I printed from the computer and then played a game of checkers with Uncle Tony.  We had lunch together and it was nice to have two tables full!  We took some pictures while they were here.  They are all growing up so fast!  Love those kiddos!!

We believe in Free Love!

Carl and I decided to dress up in 60s garb for a Young Women activity tonight. We actually had fun doing it. We were playing Where's Waldo. We dressed up and then roamed around the mall with the other members of the Bishopric and the Young Women Presidency. The girls had to find us and take a picture with us. The girls were thrilled with our outfits! I personally think Carl looks great as a long haired hippie! Don't you? This is the first time that I ever remember getting him to dress up and even wear a wig.
