Peace, Love & Virtue! Girl's Camp.

This is Jeanne and I with others at the Lodge. I'm in the pink jacket. It was nice to share this experience with her. She was there with the Stake YW Presidency teaching the spiritual class. She did an awesome job. Our theme this year was Peace, Love and Virtue. There was a lot of tie dye and peace symbols everywhere. The peace sign also stood for Virtue "V". Since this stuff is still very popular there were lots of cool tee shirts and bandanas. A very fun experience for me. One ward however, got the stomach flu that went through their whole cabin and their experience wasn't that fun. Some of the stake staff even got it. I managed to get home unscathed. Whew!

Grace was in my first year certification class. Here she is proud of her knot tying skills.

Carl's assignment at camp was helping at the rifle range and with archery. He got to help our neice, Grace, who was awesome. Go figure, considering her Dad doesn't do anything outdoorsy!

Our Bishop found a cool spot for a time capsule. We each wrote down a few goals for the year and put them in a box. A hole was dug and covered with some rocks. Next year for camp, we will dig it up and see how we did. Neat idea!

My moment in the spotlight! We did lip sync to Nancy Sinatra's "These Boots are Made for Walking" with the Stake Camp Staff. I got selected to be 'Nancy' while everyone else danced behind me. We all had different kinds of boots. Brings back memories of the good 'ole days!

School's Almost Out! Hurray!!

Well, I am on the count down.  School will be out in 8 days!  Yippee!  I am busy like crazy getting ready for our End of the Year Program on this Friday.  My little darlings will be performing for their parents and we will have a little reception back in our room.  It is a lot to get these little ones ready to sing and do what I expect for the program but somehow they always do terrific when the day actually comes.  Tomorrow we have a swim party with them at the High School pool.  That's always a big hit.  I am excited to be done with this year but a little concerned for next year.  My director that I have worked with for 15 years is retiring and that means a new leader for next year.  I am looking forward to the challenge and hope things will just keep going on smoothly with our unique program.
