Carl and I took a trip up to Ash Fork today to celebrate Rebecca's 9th Birthday! Her birhday was on Wednesday but we couldn't get away that day. The girls were excited to see us since Tracy had not told them we were coming. Rebecca is quite the girl - camo one minute and doing fingernails the next. An all american girl! That's one of Rebecca's friends getting her nails done. Happy Birthday Big Girl!
Isn't this beautiful! I have a friend who teaches at Metro Tech High School, technical/trade high school, and their floral department makes these arrangements for the holidays and sells them for a fund raiser. I can save the cornucopia and send it next year for a refill of fresh flowers. It sure was a nice addition to our Thanksgiving table.
This is our feast! We had our traditional oyster stuffing, broccoli casserole, mashed potatoes and gravy, sweet potatoe casserole, deviled eggs, rolls, my WW butternut squash, apple, cranberry crumble and of course our wild turkeys and venison stew. We had lots of desserts as well - pumpkin pie, apple pie, sour cream and apple pie, lemon meringue pie and of course, my famous pumpkin roll. Of course, we had lemonade as well as Egg Nog with Ginger Ale. I had only made the pumpkin roll for dessert since the girls were bringing the other desserts. For some reason I had a hankering for some lemon meringue pie and had texted Hannah to see if they had any at the Forum, where she works, that she could sneak a piece for me. They didn't have that kind of pie this Thanksgiving so I was disappointed. Carl overheard me say something about it and made a trip to Marie Calendar's to get me a pie and of course, he had to have some sour cream apple pie for himself since that's his favorite. He's so thoughtful and wonderful! He sure spoils me! Those that were here for dinner were Carl and I, Hannah and Sarah, Doug, Erin and Tony (& Liam) and Grandma. By the way, Grandma had 15 teeth pulled in prep for dentures so she only had the soft stuff! Kim and the boys joined us about 6 for dessert. We had a lovely day and even pulled out some old family videos to enjoy! A great day! Hope yours was too!
