The buck stopped here!
Here is a picture of a very, very happy Doug with his first Coue's Deer Buck! I could hear him yelling and see him jumping around in the woods when he got this guy! This just clinches the addiction to the outdoors for he and Carl. They just can't get enough! WooHoo! Congratulations Doug!

A buck! He got a Buck!
I just received a text from Carl and Doug on their hunting trip. Doug got his first Buck! WooHoo! He is so excited! I guess this means we will have to get a freezer! I can just see him jumping up and down and yelling for all it's worth! Pictures to come as soon as they get back!

Weekend Trip to Safford!
Carl and I took the weekend and went down to Safford to do some scouting around for his upcoming coues dear hunt. We haven't been down there in a long time. It was hot though! Record highs for this time of year. We stayed in the Springhill Suites (nice perk of having a son working for Marriott). Saturday we drove around looking for the designated hunting area and then did some hiking. It was wilderness hiking - no trails.. . I mean we were blazing the trail. I have the scratches to prove it! I twisted my knee a little on the last trek and Carl had to finish to the top without me. We found this interesting old building in the middle of nowhere and decided that was about the kind of resort living we would be doing some day! Ha!
Above is the Gila Valley Temple that we passed on the way into town. Getting pretty close to completion. Beautiful!

Time Out for Women! Erin & Debra
Erin and I went to the Phoenix Time Out for Women this weekend! It was just what we needed to get a lift! The speakers and music was awesome! Kenneth Cope and Jenny Oaks were the musical guests and they were both terrific! Last night we heard Brad and Debby Wilcox and John Bytheway and they were awesome too! Today was absolutely the best! Kenneth Cope was back and he sings so beautifully and inspiringly. Today we listened to Emily Watts, Kris Belcher, Wendy Ulrich and Emily Freeman. We all laughed and cried with each one of the speakers. They were all great but the one that touched me the most was Emily Freeman who talked about ways to bring abundance to your life. She has a book out called "The Promise of Enough Seven Principles of True Abundance". I had just seen the book at the Deserest Bookstore on Thursday and was intrigued by it and today I bought it. She spoke about 3 of the principles. It was the one that touched me the most. You will have to read it. I am also posting a picture of me with her. It was very worth the time! Liam was an angel and slept most of both sessions. Erin was excited and enjoyed the new experience. She called it EFY for Women!
